INTAN JAYA - The Raider Infantry Battalion 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad, is part of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command (KOOPS TNI) in Papua, which carries out mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Intan Jaya Regency area, Papua Tengah Province. On Friday, 12 July 2024.
In the context of regional security duties, the 509 Task Forces conducted a patrol by visiting and greeting residents in the Puyagiya Village, Sugapa District.
The 509 Task Forces Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, has left a message to the Soldiers who will conduct the patrol. The message is that every Soldier should use their assignment for positive things, not just carrying out duties on a daily basis.
The message was immediately answered with the initiative and creativity of the J2 Post, led by Captain Patria, by communicating and providing the basic necessities of the Puyagiya people during the patrol.
While prioritizing security, the Soldiers invited communication when visiting the houses and the Puyagiya residents responded enthusiastically. In this Social Communication, the Soldiers also had the opportunity to distribute basic necessities packages for the community's daily needs. The packages distributed include rice, cooking oil, instant noodles, sugar, and other basic necessities needed by the community. After receiving the package, a Papuan father, named Lukas Ulau, expressed his gratitude by saying, "Thank you, Commander 509. God bless TNI. Glorious Indonesia”.
“The initiative of the 509 Task Forces to distribute basic necessities in the Puyagiya Village is the TNI's effort to provide services for the basic necessities of the community, to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region, " said the KOOPS TNI Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, upon receiving the program report.
